The NA EHS Manager reports directly to the Executive Team and supports and directs the sites’ management teams. Responsibilities include: • Develop short and long range plans to improve the effectiveness of systems and processes while ensuring compliance with customer, corporate, governmental and third-party safety & environmental standards, ensuring robust, timely data collection, monitoring, and analysis for any and all reportable metrics. • Select, train, provide leadership and work assignments for, counsel, and evaluate the performance of engineers and staff engaged in developing, analyzing, modifying, and improving safety processes and procedures to ensure the continuing ability of the Company to safely produce quality products to meet customer delivery commitments. • Responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and support third party standards including ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. • Develops, implements and maintains comprehensive management systems in support of the company EHS Policy, EHS Code of Conduct, and EHS Commitment statement • Coordinates, monitors and evaluates the EHS management system’s effectiveness; recommends appropriate corrective actions as required • Ensures compliance with all company EHS policies and regulatory requirements. • Keeps abreast of all current and pending EHS regulations • Works closely with the Site Managers and employees at all levels to maintain a safe and healthy work environment • Conducts/coordinates accident investigations, with particular attention given to the identification of root causes and effective corrective actions • Directs submission of applications for renewal, modification, and/or change to the sites’ environmental permits • Provides leadership and guidance to the individual plant safety committees • Coordinates/conducts EHS training for all employees, contractors and site visitors; ensures proper training documentation and maintains training record files as indicated by company policy and regulatory requirements • Coordinates/conducts health and industrial hygiene monitoring activities • Job responsibilities may require travel to other company operations as defined Education/Experience/Skills • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical, scientific, or engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience; bachelor’s degree preferred • Minimum of 10 years EHS experience in Heavy Industrial Manufacturing • Multiple site manufacturing EHS experience • Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 • Skill in auditing/inspecting operations and company procedures • Ability to develop and implement effective EHS strategies and management systems • Working knowledge of applicable environmental, health and safety standards • Knowledge of financial and business analysis techniques • Knowledge of facility and operational procedures • Ability to communicate and work effectively with employees at all levels of the company About Our Client Our client has been a global leader for over 100 years.
