Position Responsibilities Develop an in-depth understanding of the manufacturing processes employed by the Company to facilitate effectiveness in troubleshooting and problem solving within manufacturing plants, to include: · Raw Materials / Minerals and Recycled Materials Processing; · Material Handling, processing and manufacturing. Specialize in crushing, grinding and milling applications: · Grinding and classification; · Optimization of grinding operations to improve productivity, efficiency and material uniformity; and · Project development and implementation related to new grinding applications. Develops and manages capital projects by: · Assisting in conceptualization and scope development for key capital projects; · Organizing teams to help in research efforts; · Preparing and submitting Capital Expenditure Requests (CER); and · Leading or participating in the implementation of capital projects; and · Ensuring that project objectives are obtained. Support process and product improvement initiatives by: · Assisting in the implementation of key, strategic initiatives: i.e., product launches or new process capabilities; · Cooperating with R&D resources to ensure that project objectives are realized; · Identifying and engaging additional resources as needed to fulfill project responsibilities; and · Maintaining confidentiality and integrity of intellectual property as appropriate. Education/Experience: · Bachelors Degree in Engineering Discipline (metallurgy, chemical, mining, mechanical). · 10 years or more experience in milling. · Specific knowledge in grinding, milling and classification. |

Senior Technical Manager - Hydrometallurgy Summary: The Senior Technical Manager will be a key part of the organization by providing technical leadership to meet the process engineering and technical needs in Solvent Extraction and Electrowinning (SX/EW). The incumbent will manage all technical and quality issues in connection with the construction, start up and operation of a solvent extraction electrowinning plant. Develop and direct process improvements. Lead technical support. Supervise engineers and technicians. Manage all technical and quality issues in connection with the construction, start up and operation of solvent extraction electrowinning plant. Direct the SX/EW Engineering Department. Propose and manage environmental technology projects related to SX/EW operations. Coordinate with corporate EH&S department to ensure environmental compliance. Direct the planning, scheduling, technical project management and execution of activities for major technical projects at the SX/EW facilities including providing cost-effective process recommendations and completion of projects on budget and on time for start up and operations. Evaluate performance of SX/EW processes: analyze operating data, develop mass and energy balances, recommend new or improved practices, processes, equipment, etc., to improve metallurgical and economical performance. Coordinate and direct activities of outside engineering or consulting companies and other contractors in the execution of process engineering/ technical projects or studies. Supervisor, develop and evaluate performance of technicians and engineers. Qualifications: Expertise in solvent extraction and electrowinning (SX/EW) technology Minimum BS degree in Metallurgy/Hydrometallurgy, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering Computer competency in working with and developing system solutions.
