Production / Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing the plant processes and equipment. Ensures that the quality and production goals are accomplished. Address maintenance problems that inhibit the efficient operation of the process equipment. Direct capital funds projects for plant equipment improvements. Communicate changes in operating parameters as well as dealing with newly installed equipment. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in either Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical or heavy industrial process industry is required. • Leadership role in developing and implementing process and safety improvements. • Experience in environmental permit compliance. • Strong ability to communicate and direct activities of operators and maintenance. • Experience filling in as Superintendent/Manager. • Experience in monitoring costs (operating costs and turnaround costs). • Plan and lead turnaround activities • Strong work ethic. • Proficient oral and written communication skills. • Proficient in Microsoft programs. Position Accountabilities: • Identifying and implementing cost savings projects annually • Assist identification and implementation of safety and environmental improvement projects. • Track and provide recommendations to ensure that production meets or exceeds goals. • Provide material balance forecasting and assistance with cost forecasting. • Provide root cause analysis leadership and involvement • Identify, request and apply capital funds for improvement and sustaining projects. • Manage contract operations activities and spending for cost effectiveness. • Participate meetings to improve safety and environmental awareness. • Assist in employee training to communicate changes in operating parameters as well as newly installed equipment. |

Plant Production Engineer The Plant Production Engineer is responsible for optimizing the operation of the departmental equipment, while making sure that neither safety nor the environment is compromised. The incumbent ensures that the quality and production goals are accomplished. Maintenance problems, which inhibit the efficient operation of the process equipment, are addressed either through modifications and the work order system or by requesting capital funds for improvements. Production employee training must be conducted to communicate changes in operating parameters as well as dealing with newly installed equipment. Required Qualifications: -A Bachelor of Science in either Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required. -A minimum of 3-10 years of experience in a chemical or minerals processing industry is required. -Experience in directly supporting plant safety programs and policies. -Leadership role in developing and implementing process and safety improvements (specific examples). -Experience in environmental permit compliance and maintaining records. -Chemical process engineering experience. -Strong ability to communicate and direct activities of operators and maintenance. -Viewed as a leader and resource in the plant. -Experience filling in as the Dept. Superintendent/Manager. -Experience in monitoring costs (operating costs and turnaround costs). Plan and lead turnaround activities -Strong work ethic. -Proficient oral and written communication skills. -Proficient in Microsoft programs. -Process the strength and dexterity to personally inspect any area of responsibility that may affect employee safety and environmental integrity. Position Accountabilities: -Identifying and implementing cost savings projects. -Assist identification and implementation of safety and environmental improvement projects. -Track and provide recommendations to ensure that production tonnage meets or exceeds plan. -Provide material balance forecasting and assistance with cost forecasting. -Provide root cause analysis leadership and involvement in work management process. -Identify, request and apply capital funds for improvement and sustaining projects. -Manage contract operations activities and spending for cost effectiveness. -Participate in crew meetings on a monthly basis to improve safety and environmental awareness. -Assist in employee training to communicate changes in operating parameters as well as dealing with newly installed equipment. |
